 I've used HNA as a description. HNA = hole number arrow. hole is the description of the opening, number is the number stamped on the harmonica over the hole indicating which one is being discussed, and arrow is from the tablature that I prefer - arrow up meaning exhale, arrow down meaning inhale, with a "crook" in the arrow pointing at different points of the "clock" to indicate which note created through bending technique is under discussion.

  A hole is by definition circular, spherical
  or round. So I'd go with "orifice". But then, I've
  seen square holes, diamond shaped holes, rhomboids
  and trapezoids. Call it what you want, its still an
  "opening".
